Take a seat

Create a place for everyone to lounge.  Comfy sofas and sectionals will act as the anchor to your space and the best place to start in a room like this. Space plan for seating and flow that makes sense with the orientation of the room and how you plan to use it most, then start looking for style and shape. Put your feet up

Upholstered ottomans, poufs, and accent chairs are the next layer in comfort. Not only will they add additional seating, they will add unique character to the space and more fabrics and textures. We suggest swivel chairs as a way to accommodate great rooms that typically have multiple focal points like a tv, a fireplace, and windows with a great view.  

Gatehouse design TIP: Check off both form and function with trays on top of upholstered ottomans to create a flat surface that contain accessories like books or a place to set a drink or popcorn.  Simply move the tray aside to provide additional seating when needed.

Pillow Talk

Want the family time to last even longer? Use pillows for extra comfort and style.  Select a variety of sizes, shapes, and textures for a more cultivated look while giving an extra cozy vibe. We recommend working your pillows in pairs for the ends of sofas and trios from sectional corners to create dimension and depth and symmetry, then throw in a few one of a kind for extra flavor. When it comes to the pillow fill, we recommend feather and down.  Your pillows will look fuller, hold their shape, and look better longer.

Love where you Live

Create easy access to practical and functional pieces so you can truly live in the space you love.
