MOODY HUES
Saturated moody hues worked their way into our homes and hearts in 2020. We predict they are here to stay in 2021! Don’t be afraid to go deep and saturated with your color palette. Some of our favorites include deep emeralds, rich wines, and smokey browns.
GH TIP:
Go big and bold with a floor to ceiling moody wallpaper OR simple and sophisticated with pops of saturation in velvets and other textile textures.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We’ve said for years “it’s all in the details!” and 2021 is no different. Whether it’s the flange on your pillow, the accessories on your coffee table, the molding on the wall, or the finish on the drawer pulls, the small details matter! We anticipate seeing more detailed finish work in walls, fixtures, and accessorizing.
GH TIP:
Go custom! By designing your own custom upholstered furniture pieces, you can really make the details sing! Choose your own fabrics, leathers, and finishes to create a perfect piece down to the smallest details like nailhead and trim.
WOOD TONES
We loved seeing more natural wood finishes embraced in this past year from exposed wooden beams to wooden doors and deep stained furniture, we don’t see this trend leaving anytime soon.
WALLPAPER
Wallpaper has come a long way in the past decade. With so many options (many which are easy to install/remove) it’s no wonder people are embracing this classic look. It’s a great way to add high impact in small areas with texture, pattern, and color.
GH TIP:
Not ready to commit just yet? Try removable wallpapers in small areas like the backing of cabinets.
COMFORT
People are spending more time at home than ever before making comfort the top of the priority list. But just because comfort is key, doesn’t mean your style needs to suffer. Finding pieces that meet both form and function is the solution. Pillows, throws, and a well fragranced candle go a long way in creating a cozy space.
GH TIP:
Embrace comfort in every season! Cozy isn’t just for the colder months; look to lighter fabrics in sunlit hues for a look that can last year-round.
TONE ON TONE
From fashion to furniture, we can’t help embrace the tone on tone look! Find your favorite hue and don’t hold back; layer fabrics, finishes, and wall color to create depth and interest.
Whatever trends you take on this year, remember that staying true to you will never go out of style!
